UPDATE: Mass State Police Bomb Squad Investigating Package at Walsh Middle

UPDATE: 8:11 am. Framingham Police said the scene has been cleared. No threat, said Framingham Police Lt. Stephen Cronin.

Unofficially, Framingham Source is hearing that the package was a box left over from the 5K race that was held at the school over the weekend.

FRAMINGHAM – The Massachusetts State Police bomb squad has been called to investigate a suspicious package at Walsh Middle School, according to Framingham Police.

Buses are being directed to Dunning Elementary, said Framingham Police Lt. Stephen Cronin.

Parents were reporting to Framingham Source they could not drop off their teens for school just before 7:45 a.m.

An email from the Framingham Public Schools went out to parents about 7:50 a.m. “This message is for Walsh Middle School Families.  Please be advised that Framingham Police are conducting an investigation at the driveway entrance to Walsh this morning and drop off for your children is being rerouted to the Charlotte Dunning Elementary School. Buses will arrive at Dunning and will be escorted to Walsh by staff.  Students arriving by car should be dropped off at the Dunning as well. Thank you for your cooperation.   You will be updated later on this morning. “
