5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: Friday, Oct. 7

1 Today is the start of a 5-day weekend for students in the Framingham Public Schools and students, who attend the Christa McAuliffe Charter School in Framingham. There is no school on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week.


2. The main Framingham Library will host a free screening of the R-rated movie Money Monster tonight at 7 in the Costin room. The movie, starring Julia Roberts and George Clooney, is about a financial TV host and his producer, who are put in an extreme situation when an irate investor takes over their studio.

 

3. Shit-Faced Shakespeare returns to Framingham today. The theatrical show will be at Amazing Things Arts Center for a 75-minute, 16-plus performance at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 and $17 for members.

 

4. MUSTANGS in action:

  • Marian High girls soccer has a home game against Whitinsville Christian at Merchant Field at 3:45 p.m.
  • Combined Marian-Keefe Tech football team has an away game against Lowell Catholic at 7 p.m.

 

 

FLYERS in action:

  • Co-ed golf team has a match against Newton North at Framingham Country Club at 3:30 p.m.
  • Field hockey has an away game at Walpole at 3:45 p.m.
  • Boys soccer has an away game against the Rebels in Walpole at 3:45 p.m.
  • Girls soccer hosts Walpole at Framingham High at 3:45 p.m.
  • Volleyball hosts the Rebels for a match at 4 p.m. at the high school gym

 

5. Framingham Police Department held an open house Thursday, as part of National Community Policing Week. There will be a second open house tomorrow, Oct. 8 from noon to 3 p.m. Pictured below is 27-year veteran Framingham Police Officer David Studley, giving a tour in the department’s crime lab.
