FRAMINGHAM – Almost 1,000 runners participated in the 17th Annual Flutie 5K on Sunday morning, Oct. 2.
The event raises money for the Doug E. Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, based in Framingham.
Among the runners were several from Framingham, including members of the Greater Framingham Running Club.
Framingham mother Samantha McGarry and her daughter also completed the 5K race.
The overall winner of the race, which began at the MetroWest Medical Center in Natick, was Dover resident Andy Gardiner in 16.41 minutes.
The top female finisher was Jessica Smith in 20.10 minutes.
