FRAMINGHAM – Six teams of volunteers constructed playhouses for children of veterans Saturday, Sept. 10 on Framingham Center Common, as part of event sponsored by the Habitat for Humanity Greater Worcester-MetroWest.
The Habitat for Humanity playhouse build-a-thon raised funding and awareness for families in need of decent, affordable shelter.
All six playhouses constructed on Saturday were donated to a Veteran/Military family, which is a great way to honor those who have served our country, said Bonnie Biocchi, of Habitat for Humanity Greater Worcester-MetroWest.
During the event there was a public art exhibit titled “Doors of Hope.”
There was also a LEGO “Build Your Dream Home” for children.
