Staples Donates Filled Backpacks to Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest

FRAMINGHAM – The long time partnership between Staples and the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest is once again reaping dividends.

On Tuesday, August 16, Staples employees donated 300 backpacks filled with needed items including shoes, calculators, tablets, binders, pens, pencils and more.

The program also expanded this year to serve an additional 50 children at the Boys & Girls Club of Assabet Valley.

Staples employees receive a child’s age, favorite color, gender and other attributes that help them create a backpack tailored for the child’s individual needs.

“We are extremely grateful for our partnership with Staples,” said Fran Hurley, President & CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest.

“Many thanks to Associate Engagement Coordinator, Michelle Thier, who has been running the program for several years. Without her and all the generous employees who contribute, this wouldn’t be possible!”
