A Framingham woman was struck by a car while walking her dog in the crosswalk on Route 126 Wednesday morning, August 10, according to Framingham Police.
The woman was struck on Concord Street, near Cherry Street around 9 a.m. She was transported by ambulance to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester with serious injuries. The dog was not injured.
The driver, 55, of the beige sedan was speaking sign language to a hearing-impaired passenger when he struck the woman, reported NECN.
Police cited the driver for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and impeded operation. No named were released by police, at this time.
Route 126 was closed in both directions for a couple of hours yesterday morning.
Framingham Police are investigating.
