FRAMINGHAM- Louise I. (Whitcher) Hart, age 96, died Monday, August 1, 2016 at Saint Patrick’s Manor in Framingham.
She was the loving wife for 62 years to the late John J. Hart, Jr. who died in 2008
Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the Frank and Mary Etta (Tighe) Whitcher.
During her time at Framingham High School, she was on the school’s swim team and graduated in 1938.
She was a natural athlete, playing golf and tennis until she was 88 years old.
Also, she was a self-trained ice skater frequenting Farm Pond in Framingham, qualifying for the profession skating show, The Ice Follies.
Hart worked as an administrative assistant for the Dean of Admissions at Framingham State College for over 15 years.
During WWII, she was a machinist at Raytheon.
She was a devoted catholic and a member of the Ladies of Solidarity at St. Bridget and St. Stephen and a Hospital Aid at Framingham Union Hospital for many years.
She is survived by her four children, Peter Hart and wife Karen of FL, Jack Hart III and wife Karen of Mashpee, Greg Hart and partner Michelle Fredette of Framingham and Bonnie Higgins and husband Peter of Lincoln; six grandchildren, Stephanie LeBrun and husband John, Katrina Hart, Shannon Hart, Sam Higgins, Harry Higgins and Abby Higgins; three great grandchildren, James, John and JT. Also survived by her brother Raymond Whitcher and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Estelle, Beulah, Rita, Irene, Emily, Mathew, Frank, Gerard and Donald.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Monday, August 8, from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. in the Holy Family Chapel of St. Patrick’s Manor, 863 Central St., Framingham followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
