Framingham Selectmen unanimously concurred with the Framingham Town Manager’s decision to re-appoint Framingham Police Chief Ken Ferguson, on Tuesday night.
The vote was 4-0, with Selectman Jason Smith not present.
“It was a great opportunity for the Board to be able to show public support for Chief Ferguson,” said Framingham Selectmen Chair Cheryl Tully Stoll to Framingham Source.
Ferguson, who was first named Framingham Police Chief in October 2013, had his contract extended through June 2019, by Town Manager Bob Halpin, earlier in June.
Halpin said Chief Ferguson has set a “great tone” for the department.
Ferguson, who has been with the Framingham Police Department for more than 3 decades, makes $180,655.
The re-appointment does not come with a raise, but a salary adjustment can take place during the chief’s next review period.
