UPDATE: One of Fall River Finalists Offered Interim Superintendent in Malden

Earlier this week, the Malden School Committee voted to name one of the three finalists for the Fall River Superintendent position, as its interim superintendent of schools for the 2015-16 school year.

On Monday, in a split vote, the Malden School Committee offered the position to Charles Grandson IV, the associate director of leadership development at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Center for Public Leadership and former deputy superintendent of the Poughkeepsie City School District in New York.

Grandson has yet to sign a contract, so he could still be offered and accept a position in Fall River.

Grandson IV, Framingham Superintendent of Schools Stacy L. Scott, and former Massachusetts Education Secretary Matthew Malone are the three finalists for Fall River.

The Fall River School Committee is expected to decide on a superintenent tonight at a public meeting.
