Framingham High senior Paul Halberstadt won the Division 1 Pentathlon state title Thursday.
“Paul had an excellent day, and cruised in on the 1500 with the days work done in the first four events,” said Head Coach Chris Collins.
The Pentathlon includes a 1500 race, the shot put, the long jump, the 110 hurdles, and the high jump.
“Being the smallest competitor in the group today, Paul showed how hard work and focus can overcome physical shortcomings,” said Collins.
“One of my favorite moments was standing next to the Acton-Boxboro coach, and having him say the following quote ‘He gets absolutely everything he can from his frame — inspiring to watch’,” said Collins.
