35th Annual Memorial Day Classic Kicks Off Friday Night

Two Framingham teams will take the field at Bowditch Field tonight, as the Framingham United Soccer Club kicks off the 35th Annual Memorial Day Classic soccer tournament.

The soccer tournament, featuring U8 to U14 teams, continues to grow, said Barry Neusner to Framingham Source.

This year has the most teams ever – 145 teams from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

Last year, 125 teams participated in the two-day tournament.

Games are Saturday and Sunday on four fields in Framingham.

Tonight at Bowditch:

  • The Framingham FC Force, a U14 girls soccer team, will battle Newton Academy Blaze at 6:30
  • At 8:30, the Framingham Flyers, a U14 boys team, will take on Wellesley United.

The public is invited to attend both games tonight. Face painting and a DJ will be on hand. Opening ceremony at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, games will be from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

  • Registration at Galvani Field for U8 Girls starting at 7 a.m.
  • Registration at High School for U9 & U10 Boys and Girls at 7 a.m.
  • Registration at Galvani Field for U11/U12 Boys and Girls at 7 a.m.
  • Registration at Merchant for U14 Boys and Girls at 7 a.m.
