The Massachusetts School Building Authority voted this morning to officially invite Framingham Public Schools into the funding pool.
This is a major step for Framingham in either moving forward with the Fuller/Farley project or a new school on the Bethany property.
The vote confirms the Jan. 27 preliminary invitation to the eligibility period.
“This is an important next step in the process,” said Gotgart, in a press release from the FPS. “We having been preparing for this moment and are already engaged in the process of meeting the requirements set forth by the Massachusetts School Building Authority.”
Earlier this year, Framingham established a task force and a School Building Committee.
School Committee Chair Heather Connolly and Framingham Public Schools Chief Operations Officer Ed Gotgart attended today’s meeting.
Former Framingham Selectmen Dennis Giombetti, representing Sen. Karen Spilka, also attended the meeting. He expressed the Senator’s “strong support for the project.” Giombetti works for Spilka’s office, now.
