The Framingham High girls track team hosted Needham High at Bowditch Field on Wednesday afternoon.
The Flyers lost 76.67 to 59.33.
The Flyers “made a very close run of it against the state powerhouse,” said track coach Chris Collins.
The Flyers won both the 4X400 relay and the 4X100 relay.
In the 4X400 relay, the Flyers won in a time of 4:23.9 minutes. On the relay: sophomore Mayara Haddad, freshman Saisha Small-Brown, senior captain Kristen DeVellis, and junior Madelyn Maliewski.
In the sprint relay, the Flyers won in 50 seconds. On the relay: senior captain Hilda Kusi, Leche Small-Brown, senior Olivia Rothenberg and Zoie Carter.
Carter, a sophomore, won the 200 race in a state qualifying time of 26.3 seconds. Leche Small-Brown finished second in 26.4 seconds, another state qualifying time.
Kusi won the 100 dash in 12.5 seconds, with teammate Rothenberg second in 12.8 seconds. Both times were state qualifying.
Ashley Wilson, a junior, won the 100 and 400 hurdles events. She ran the 100 hurdles in 15.9 seconds, which qualified her for states.
Senior captain Lucy Matzilivich finished second in the mile for the Flyers in 5:45.60 minutes.
Sarah Lucien, a senior, won the discus with a throw of 81-feet, 9-inches. Senior captain Ayana Mckay finished third for the Flyers. In the shot put, Lucien finished second and McKay third.
Freshman Laura Walkup won the triple jump with a leap of 30-feet, 11 inches. She was also part of a 3-way tie for second place in the high jump at 4-feet 2-inches.
Next up for the Flyers is the Bay State Conference Meet on Wednesday at Braintree High.
