Framingham High senior Mike McDonald finished sixth in the Boston Athletic Association’s Invitational Mile, in the scholastic category, Saturday, April 16, in Boston.
Wellesley’s Thomas D’Anieri and Matt D’Anieri finished 1-2 in the scholastic category, with times of 4:33.1 minutes.
McDonald, a captain for the Framingham High cross-country team, finished in 4:48.7 minutes.
Framingham High’s Alex Lowry finished 13th in 5:01.5 minutes.
Two male and female runners from each of the public high schools along the route were invited to participate in the race.
Kristen DeVellis of Framingham finished in 10th place for the girls mile, in a time of 6:10.4 minutes. Framingham’s Ellen Burton finished 11th.
Scotland’s Chris O’Hare – the European Championships indoor and outdoor 1500m bronze medalist – won the invitational mile in 4:10.2 minutes.
The race includes both professional athletes and scholastic runners.
