Maddalena Carmela (DiGregorio) Guadagnoli, 90, a longtime resident of Framingham, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at home unexpectedly.

Born January 26, 1926 in Cansano, Italy, she was the daughter of Giovanni and Donata (DiCamillo) DiGregorio.

Guadagnoli was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Donato Guadagnoli, on November 24, 2000, and also by her siblings, Rocco DiGregorio and Annunziata DiGiacomo.

Loving mother of Nick Guadagnoli and his wife Theresa Burke of Dover, NH; Enzo Guadagnoli of Brookline, NH; Dan Guadagnoli and his wife Mary Ann of Framingham; cherished Noni of Gina Guadagnoli, Jennifer Zugates and her husband Gregory, Amy Guadagnoli, Nick Guadagnoli and Daniel Guadagnoli; proud great-Noni of Bradley Zugates; forever friend and former mother-in-law of Beth Gumley of Amherst, NH.

She, her husband Donato, and their young sons, Nicola and Enzo, immigrated to the United States in 1953.

At first her family lived with her uncle, Gregorio Rossetti, and his three daughters, Maria, Anita, and Dandola. Their kindness and generosity eased the hardship of the long journey.

her  young family soon moved into their own home in Framingham, where they resided for many years. A third son, Donato, was born during these years. In 1964 they moved to Hopkinton. They lived there until their three sons graduated from high school, eventually moving back to Framingham where she lived until her passing. She greatly missed her husband after his passing, and eventually went to live with her son, Dan, and his family. The loving family life they provided brought her happiness during her remaining years.

She worked tirelessly and selflessly to nurture her family and to provide a loving home. In addition, she worked at the Bancroft Cap Company. After it closed, she went to work at Cushing Hospital until her retirement.

She lived a full life surrounded by loving family and friends, many of whom had also emigrated from the same small village in Italy. In this way, she carried on the language and heritage of her native village. She never forgot her happy childhood there. She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.
