FRAMINGHAM- The Commonwealth of Massachusetts plans to close its 11 state-funded COVID testing sites at the end of March.
Sites in Framingham, Everett, Lawrence, Lynn, New Bedford, Randolph, Revere, Springfield and Worcester will close March 31.
The Framingham site is located at St. Tarcisius parish hall, off of Route 135, and run by Project Beacon.
The state-funded sites provide free PCR tests regardless of insurance coverage, even for people without symptoms or a known exposure to COVID.
In 2022, the Commonwealth closed 30 of its 41 testing sites, leaving just these 11 locations.

Free antigen tests are still available through the federal government.
U.S. households can request four rapid tests, while supplies last. You can order them here.
Starting April 1, if you need a PCR test you can try local pharmacies, urgent care centers, primary care doctors, and community health centers.
But they may not be free, some insurance will cover it and some will not.
