WELLESLEY – Richard St. Jean, 92, formerly of Wellesley, died peacefully at home on Thursday February 23, 2023.

He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Anne, in 2016. He is survived by their five children; Mary St. Jean of Natick, David St. Jean and Richard St. Jean, both of California, Liz Wilkinson of Lincoln, Suzanne St. Jean Garcia of Framingham, and ten grandchildren. He was extremely proud of all of his children and grandchildren, and loved to follow their careers.

Richard was an alumnus of Boston’s Bentley College and of Seton Hall University in New Jersey where he earned a degree in accounting. He met Anne at Seton Hall, and they married in 1957.

Richard was recruited to train and later work for Esso at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. They moved to Wellesley in 1963 where they raised their family.

In Boston he worked for Seamless Hospital Products, a division of Dart Industries, as the Northeast Regional Sales Manager for the remainder of his career. He was especially proud of being inducted into the sales Hall of Fame when he retired.

Richard was born in Maine and felt a strong tie to that state for his entire life. He spent high school and college summers working at the Jordan Pond House on Mount Desert Island in Acadia National Park, and he often referred to those as some of the happiest times of his life. He and Anne brought the family to Seal Harbor on Mount Desert for summer vacation every year, and later to Kennebunkport Maine, where four of the five children later worked summers at the Colony Hotel on Ocean Ave.

Richard spent the last two years of his life living with and being cared for by his daughter Suzanne and her family. He was very happy there, and we are grateful that he felt so cared for and for their loving attentiveness
