FRAMINGHAM – Thomas “Tom” Hopper, 80, of Holderness, NH, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023 while vacationing in the Florida Keys, a place he greatly loved.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, Kathleen M. Hopper (Hanley) and Gordon E. Hopper, sister Patricia Connolly (Hopper), and brother, Michael Hopper of Framingham. He is survived by his wife, Dolores “Dee” Hopper (Rondeau); his brother, Gerald Hopper and wife, Anne Hopper (Combe) of Framingham; his son Kevin Hopper and partner Heather Love of Brooklyn NY; his son Keith Hopper and wife Samantha Butler of Wayland, his two grandchildren, Elliot Hopper and Nathaniel Hopper, and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was an avid outdoorsman who spent much of his time in nature. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, hiking, and animals (especially the Loons). He worked closely with the Loon Preservation Committee and the White Oak Pond Watershed Association, helping protect the loons and the lake.
His professional career as an engineer and business owner was devoted to supporting his employees and improving air quality. He had a love of music from a young age, frequently quizzing friends on their music knowledge.
He was a lifelong musician, playing in the bands, The Valiants and Thundermug. He enjoyed visiting Florida in the winter and socializing with friends. He will be remembered for his warm friendly smile, hardy laugh, sense of humor, and love for life.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., Framingham, MA. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his celebration of life service at the funeral home on Saturday, March 4th, 2023 at 3pm. There will be a memorial Mass at Saint Stephen’s Church, 251 Concord St. (Rt. 126) Framingham on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 12:10 PM.
