BOSTON – The Framingham High girls indoor track team’s 4X400 relay won the MSTCA Coaches Invitational meet this weekend at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
The girls “came in with a goal to make nationals, did so, and won in the process,” said Coach Chris Collins.
The four Framingham runners were junior captain Ella Terranova, freshman Sasha Lamakina, senior Joanna Ball, and Abby Desmarais.
Their time of 4:07.78 not only qualified them for nationals, but set a Framingham high indoor track & field record, said Coach Collins.
It is the #2 best time in Massachusetts right now, added Coach Collins.

The race was not even close as Billerica finished second in 4:11.69 minutes. Bay State Conference rival Wellesley was third.
“Take 4 girls (5 really) with incredible talent and drive and offer them the challenge of Nationals and then watch something special happen,” said Coach Collins to SOURCE. “This group cares more about doing it together, than individually.”
“Maya Bishop being the 5th part of an incredible wheel, and these girls have now qualified in all 3 of these relays for Nationals TOGETHER. An absolute honor and privilege to be able to work with such rounded/selfless young women,” said Coach Collins.
