BOSTON – On Monday, May 25, United Stats Postal Service employees will pause to celebrate Memorial Day.

“As we edge toward a new normal, the Postal Service wants you to know that we can help you to exercise social distancing while staying connected with your friends, loved ones and business associates,” said the federal agency in a press release.

At usps.com residents can buy stamps and have them delivered to their home.

Residents can also order packing and shipping supplies and print postage and labels from their own computer, then schedule a carrier pickup and skip the trip to the Post Office.

Regular retail and delivery operations will resume on Tuesday, May 26.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
