FRAMINGHAM – With snow finally arriving, the Framingham High alpine ski team will begin their 9th season on Tuesday night, January 24 at Ski Ward Ski Area.
“Believe it or not we are ready! We actually had our first on snow practice back in December and have had a few more on-snow practices this month at Ski Ward. We have also had the opportunity to practice in gates. Not all teams that we will be competing against have had this opportunity. Our racers are ready,” said Head Coach Roni Sue Bower
We have a total of 14 racers this year, said the coach.
“We graduated 5 seniors which meant that we would have a rebuilding year but this may not be the case,” said Coach Bower. “We have experienced returning upperclassmen and a good group of young and new freshmen and sophomores. We have an influx of new talent that Coach Parnell and I are excited about.”

Senior Madi Jones looks forward to scoring more points this year compared to last year, said her head coach.
“She had some great finishes and is looking to improve her standings,” said Coach Bower.
“Freshman, Andrew Parnell joins the team with tons of experience. He currently races with the Ski Ward Race Team. We are excited for him to ski fast on his home hill Tuesday night,” said Coach Bower.
“Despite the challenging season the team is ready. They are prepared. We have had ski tuning sessions, analyzing race videos as well as team building events. This team has a lot of chemistry and we are not only looking for a great season this year but also for the next 4 years with this young team,” said Coach Bower.
