BOSTON – The National Weather Service Boston out of Norton tracks snowfall amounts after each storm. The federal agency uses employees, trained spotters, ham radio operators, and the media to record snow fall totals. The National Weather Service also uses the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (COCORAHS) to track snowfall amounts.
For today’s Martin Luther King Jr. snowstorm, the largest amounts were on the coast in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- East Falmouth 3.7 inches at 7 a.m. by COCORAHS
- Kingston 3.7 inches at 6 a.m. by COCORAHS
- North Andover 3.5 inches at 8 a.m. by COCORAHS
- Newburyport 3.5 inches at 7 a.m. by COCORAHS
In Middlesex County, Littleton recorded the most at 3 inches at 7:35 a.m. by the COCORAHS

In MetroWest:
- Framingham recorded 1.5 inches by 7 a.m. by COCORAHS
- Sudbury had 1.5 inches by 7 a.m. by COCORAHS
- Natick had 1.3 inches by 8 a.m. by COCORAHS
- Hopkinton recorded 0.9 inches at 8:55 a.m. by a member of the public
At Logan Airport, 3.4 inches was recorded by 9:35 a.m.
At Worcester airport, just 0.3 inches was recorded by 11:50 p.m. on January 15.
Roads were slick this morning at 7:30 a.m. in the City of Framingham, but by 11 a.m. all were bare pavement.
