FRAMINGHAM – Kevin Edward Mautte, 77, of Homosassa, Florida and Bridgton, Maine, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2022, in New Hampshire from a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
A native of New Haven, CT and longtime resident of Framingham, massachusetts Kevin was one of two children, born Sept. 18, 1945, to the late Howard and the late Marion (Welch) Mautte.
Kevin served his country honorably and proudly in the United States Army Chemical Corps from 1968 to 1970.
Kevin retired from Northeastern University Biology Department in Boston, in 2005.
Kevin earned his BS and MS in Biology from Northeastern University in 1968 and 1976, respectively. Kevin was a valued colleague and member of the research community at Northeastern University.
Kevin was a member of the Gamma Phi Kappa Fraternity and faculty advisor for many years.
He and his loving wife of nearly 44 years, Elizabeth, began their snowbird residence adventure to Homosassa FL in 2006.
Kevin was an avid golfer and loved sports. He followed college basketball, especially NU and UCONN games, and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics. Kevin and his wife Elizabeth also enjoyed traveling together.
Along with his wife Elizabeth, Mautte is survived by his children: Kevin Edward “Chip” Mautte II of Kissimmee, FL; Jillian Frances Sackett (husband John) of Spring Hill, TN and “Florida Dad” to Jeffery Ryan Gaudin of Homosassa; grandchildren Sophia Frances Mautte of Kissimmee, FL and Natalie Marion Sackett of Spring Hill, TN, as well as his sister, Catherine Marion Richetelli of North Haven, CT and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration Of Life with Full Military Honors for Kevin will take place at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Wilder Funeral Home, 4890 S. Suncoast Blvd., Homosassa, FL, followed by a luncheon at Sugarmill Country Club.
Interment will be on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 11 A.M. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. All who wish to attend are invited.
