Framingham City Hall To Close at 12:30 p.m. on Fridays

FRAMINGHAM – City of Framingham Mayor Charlie Sisitsky is announcing that Friday hours will change at City Hall. The change, which will be indefinite, and become effective Friday, December 30, will close City Hall on Fridays an hour-and-a- half earlier, moving closing time from 2 to 12:30 p.m., announced the Sisitsky administration today, December 22 in a press release.

SOURCE announced the change on December 15.

The change will not affect the service hours of any other day, and will remain as follows: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 8:30am – 5:00pm, and Tuesday from 8:30am – 7:00pm. Should there be special circumstances that require specific offices to remain open later on a Friday, a notice will be published as such, stated the press release.

“The only building that will be affected by these modified hours will be City Hall. The Framingham Public Library, Branch Library, Department of Public Works offices, Police station, Fire station, Callahan Senior Center, Parks and Recreation offices, and all other City offices will retain their current service hours,” said the press release.

“After discussion with staff, division heads, and the City Council, I am announcing the modified Friday hours for City Hall offices. While we will close earlier on Fridays, we will continue to remain open until 7:00pm on Tuesdays for residents and business owners to receive services after working hours. It is our belief that these modified hours will help keep us competitive as a 21st century employer,” said Mayor Sisitsky.

Notices through all of the City’s communication vehicles including social media, the City website, and email/text notification will be sent out prior to the Christmas holiday to make the public aware. Ongoing notification will be done through social media and will be reflected on the City website www.framinghamma.gov.
