BOSTON – The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is reporting 1,239 new cases of the virus today, May 15.
Massachusetts now has a total of 83,421 positive coronavirus cases as of today, May 15.
The state is reporting 110 deaths. Since the pandemic began Massachusetts has reported 5,592 COVID-19 or complications from the virus deaths.
There is no cure and no vaccine for COVID-19, at this time.
Massachusetts ranks fourth in the United States behind New York, New Jersey & Illinois for the most positive cases.

The state tested 11,318 individuals in the last 24 hours
As of May 15, the state has tested more 435,679 individuals.
The number of COVID-19 cases hospitalized was at 9% to start May. A good sign is the number has 4% for the last week, and today and yesterday it is now at 3%.
Another good sign, the number of individuals in ICUs in the state is under 800 for the last three days.
Middlesex County has the most positive cases at 18,683.
In comparison, Berkshire County has 491 cases, and Barnstable County on Cape Cod has 1,137 cases.

Framingham has the most cases in MetroWest. The City of Framingham is also among the top 20 communities with coronavirus cases in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The City of Framingham has reported more than 20 deaths in the last week due to the virus. The entire State of Maine has just about 1,400 cases of the virus. and the City of Framingham has about 1,300 cases.

The United States has more than 1.432 million coronavirus cases as of 4 p.m. today, May 15.

The Centers for Disease Control is reporting 83,947 deaths as of noon, May 14.
The U.S. is leading the world in COVID-19 deaths, with more than 27,800 deaths in New York.
The Baker-Politio administration announced a 4-prong re-opening plan on May 11.
A full report on the plan is due on May 18. Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has extended the order to keep non-essential businesses closed through May 18.
The Massachusetts Governor said this 4-phased opening will “require patience” by everybody.
