NEWTON – The Framingham State women’s basketball team outscored Lasell University 24-0 in the first quarter on their way to a commanding 79-33 win on the road in Newton Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Rams jumped out to a a 24-0 lead after one quarter and would lead by as many as 47 en route to the non-conference win. 
  • Four Rams scored double digit points on the evening. Flannery O’Connor scored 16 points with seven rebounds a steal and a block.  
  • Katherine Haselton chipped in 16 points with six boards and two steals and Kelsey Yelle added 16 with seven rebounds and two steals. Krystalee Fernandez added 10 points with four boards and four assists.  
  • Jasmine DePina was the leading scorer for the Lasers with 10 points.  
  • The Rams were an even 50% from the floor and 33% from long range. The Lasers shot 21% from the field and just 5% from downtown.  
  • The Rams made the most of their opportunities scoring 26 points off turnovers and 12 on second-chance opportunities.  

UP NEXT:  The Rams will travel to Rivier for non-conference play on Thursday, December 1st at 7 p.m..
