FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High boys varsity soccer team beat Wellesley 1-0 today, October 18, at turf field at Fuller Middle School.
It was a a tale of two halves, and the Flyers were able to hang on for the victory, said Coach Jon Wood.
Framingham got on the scoreboard in the first half when senior captain Jack Carney collected a pass from junior forward Brendan Walker and put it past the Wellesley goalie, said Coach Wood.
The Flyers moved the ball well, and controlled play for the entire first half, said Coach Wood.

The second half was controlled by Wellesley as they outplayed the Flyers and created many scoring chances, said Coach Wood.
Senior goalie Tyler Ingham saved the day with an excellent save on a Wellesley shot inside the box, said Coach Wood.
The Flyers managed to hang on and preserved the victory, said Coach Wood.
The Flyer defense was led by senior captains Ben Sharon and Liam Gilbert. They controlled the middle of the field and dictated the pace of the game, said Coach Wood.

Framingham is now 9-1-5 overall.
Framingham will travel to Newton on Thursday for a 6 p.m. game against the Tigers of Newton North High.
