FRAMINGHAM – Brenda Catherine Glidden, 79, of Framingham and former longtime resident of Ashland, passed away Wednesday September 28, 2022, with her family by her side. 

Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Edith (Donati) Nardini and the beloved wife of Russell Glidden for 59 years. 

Brenda worked as a legal secretary for Hargraves, Karb, Wilcox, and Galvani for 27 years and later in the Guidance Department of Ashland High School.

After her retirement, she volunteered at Metro West Medical Center.  

She was guided by her strong faith and through her caring personality and selflessness made everyone she knew feel loved and appreciated. She loved spending time with her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren. She cherished her time with them on the beaches of Falmouth, at their many sporting events, and at family gatherings and celebrations.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children, Lisa Martin and her husband Bill of Richmond, MA, Richard Glidden of Ashland, and Stephen Glidden and his wife Debra of Hopkinton, seven grandchildren, Katie Bovard and her husband Nate, Joe Martin, Emily Martin, Tori Glidden, Russell Glidden, Sarah Glidden, and Luke Glidden. She is also survived by her brother, Allan Nardini and his wife Linda. She is predeceased by her brother Eugene Nardini and his wife Frances.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday Oct. 1 at 9 a.m. in St. Cecilia’s Parish, 54 Esty Street, Ashland, with burial to follow in St. Tarcisius Cemetery in Framingham. 

There are no calling hours.  Arrangements by Matarese Funeral Home in Ashland.
