Natick Cultural Council Accepting Grant Proposal Applications; Informational Meeting Sept. 14

NATICK – Natick Cultural Council (NCC) is accepting proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs from September 1, 2022 to October 17, 2022.

October 17, 2022 is the postmark deadline for organizations, schools, and individuals to apply for grants that support cultural activities in the community.

These grants can support a variety of Arts, Humanities and Science projects and activities (virtual or in-person) – including public art, exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops, and lectures.

All applications will be considered but preference will be given to Natick-based artists and organizations that provide benefit to Natick community.

Preference will be given to projects that are well-planned and meet council priorities.

The projects, performances and activities may be conducted virtually (online) or in-person, if and only if, they are following the state guidelines for COVID-19.

Natick Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences, and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.

Last year, Natick Cultural Council was allocated $12,300 which it distributed in grants to projects such as, Natick Little Free Library Workshop (Amanda Formica), Divas and Doggies (Opera del West, Inc), Rising Colors (Carol Krentzman), Return to the Stage!! (Voices of MetroWest, Inc.), 4th Grade Cultural Arts Application (Lilja Elementary School) and Sound & Spirit’s first Holiday Stroll (Sound & Spirit, Inc.).

Natick Cultural Council will host a grant application information session on September 14, 2022 from 8 to 9 p.m. virtually on Zoom:
