HOLLISTON – James “Jim” Robertson, Esq., of Holliston, passed away unexpectedly on August 14, 2022 in Rhode Island at age 63. His great sense of humor and easygoing nature will be sorely missed.

Jim was born and raised in New Providence, NJ, one of five children born to the late John and Dolores Robertson. He graduated from New Providence High School in New Jersey and then attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Bates College in Maine. 

During his time at Bates, he met Lee, his true love. Soon thereafter, they wed and shared 36 years of marriage. He then attained a Juris Doctor degree from Western New England School of Law in Massachusetts. 

As an attorney, he represented clients in Massachusetts, mainly in Framingham District Court and Concord District Court, for over 35 years. He was also a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association.

Although Jim was passionate about sports, music, nature, literature and, as a lifelong learner, had a wealth of knowledge; above all, he loved, and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend who will be lovingly remembered by everyone for his bright smile and unmistakable laugh.

Jim is the beloved husband of Lee (Bennett) Robertson of Holliston, MA. He is the loving father of son, Duncan Robertson and his wife, Meredith, of Worcester, MA; and daughters, Anne Robertson of Holliston, MA and Kate Robertson of Holliston, MA. He is brother to Susan and George Connell of Haverford, PA; Bill and Lori Robertson of New Providence, NJ; John and Meri-Beth Robertson of New Providence, NJ; and Tom and Pam Robertson of Summit, NJ. He is brother-in-law to Deb Kozak of Millis;  Kathy and Jay Vann of Hudson, FL; Denise and John Wood of Dalton, MA; Dan and Maureen Bennett of Hopkinton, MA; Kim and Scott Miccile of Falmouth, MA; and Tom and Kristin Bennett of Eatonton, GA. Jim is adored by his many nieces and nephews, Matthew and Jamie Spivey, Jack Spivey, Molly Spivey, Ally and Joe Kenny, Lindsey, Jack, Christopher, Carleigh, Meredith, William, Mim, Teddy Robertson, Michael Kozak, Jack Vann, Kristin Wood, Katherine Wood, Sean Bennett, Maille Bennett, Brianna Miccile, Emily Miccile, Alyssa Bennett, and Caroline Bennett; and his great-nephews, Connor Spivey and William Kenny. Jim is also survived by his lifelong friend, Dave Woodard of New Providence, NJ, as well as his faithful dog, Cody.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 8 at 11 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church in Holliston.

The family invites family and friends to attend a celebration of his life from 3 to 8 p.m. at Anthony’s on the Green at Pinecrest Golf Course in Holliston.
