FRAMINGHAM – Transition Framingham will hold its annual free tour of home and community gardens to get inspiration, ideas and advice from local gardeners on Saturday, September 10.

Attendees can do the entire tour or just a few gardens.

Donations are optional, but are encouraged to support Framingham Community Farm, a garden that grows food for A Place to Turn food pantry, and the Children’s Gardens/Nourishing Gardens program through Open Spirit which brings gardens and mentoring to children in South Framingham.

This is a rain or shine event; only severe weather will cause cancellation.

Please bring a reusable water bottle and wear appropriate footwear for gardens.

● 1 p.m. Meet at Open Spirit, 39 Edwards St., Framingham, just up the hill from Stapleton School, to tour Framingham Community Farm and a permaculture garden by Green Abundance by Design.

● 1:30 p.m. Depart for tours of several local gardens — including one with home chickens, the St. Lo Family Garden sponsored by Framingham Housing Authority, the Pratt Street Community Garden, the PelhamCenter Children’s Garden with garden mentor Safiyat Hamiss and more!

● 5 p.m.pm – Finish tours and return to Open Spirit if you car-pooled with another attendee.
