FRAMINGHAM – Jack’s Abby has brewed a lager fit for a King.

The Framingham brewery partnered with National Geographic’s immersive experience on King Tut opening on Friday in Boston, and launched King Tut’s Gold Imperial Pilsner – “a Lager so delicious, even the gods of ancient Egypt would approve.”

Visitors to the SoWA exhibit can walk through nine rooms filled with video, music and narration at Beyond King Tut: The Immersive Experience.

The new brew is a limited edition.

“This is an Imperial Pilsner clocking in at 6.8%,” said jack’s Abby Marking Director Rob Day.

“It’s brewed in traditional Bavarian Style and ingredients, but amped up on the malt and alcohol side.  It presents with some initial sweetness that ends quite crisp for an imperial,” said Day.

“We brewed a larger batch that made about 400 cases,” said Day.

The goal is to keep the beer available through the length of the exhibit, which will close in October.

But King Tut’s Gold Imperial Pilsner “might sell out before that” said Day.

So how did the partnership come about?

“The team promoting this experience – The Gold Group – was really ambitious to find creative ways to bring this to life including making a beer.  So when they landed on running the experience at SOWA – a location we have done a lot of work with – this partnership naturally fell into place.  We were a natural fit in this trifecta and jumped at the chance to be a part of it,” explained Day.

The beer is available in Framingham at Jack’s beer hall, the SOWA King Tut Exhibit, and a couple of other locations.

“It’s exciting to have such a unique event here in Boston and we are proud to be a part of that.  I can’t think of a better way to take in some immersive history than with a cold lager,” said Day.
