NATICK – Ellen J. (Bowen) Kilbridge died May 29, 2022, at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing Center in Natick at the age of 86.
She was the daughter of the late Francis I. and Elizabeth A. (McNamara) Bowen of Attleboro.
Predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Thomas J. Kilbridge, II and her brother Donald.
Ellen Jane attended public schools in Attleboro. She graduated with a degree in education from Bridgewater State University, Class of 1957.
Ellen Jane taught in the Newton Public Schools for 3 years. After starting a family, she returned to teaching in the Framingham Public Schools in 1974. Ellen Jane taught in the Title 1 program for the majority of her 37 years in Framingham. She took great joy in seeing her students learn and excel in their studies.
Ellen Jane is survived by her sons Thomas J. III of NC, Brian P. of Framingham, Christopher J. and his wife, Elizabeth Cameron-Kilbridge of South Weymouth, and Sean M. of Boston, brother, David and his wife, Irene of Clearwater, FL. Also, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She loved vacations at the Maine and Cape Cod shores. Ellen Jane enjoyed gatherings with beloved family and friends. She was a devoted parishioner of St. George Church in Saxonville. Ellen looked forward to the fall season as she was a loyal Boston College football fan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Wednesday June 8, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. George Church 74 School Street in Framingham.
Burial will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery in Framingham.
In keeping with her wishes there is no funeral home visitation.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Norton Funeral Home 53 Beech Street in Framingham.
