FRAMINGHAM – Joseph S. “Joe” Saia, 81, a longtime resident of Framingham died suddenly, May 17, 2022. Born in Watertown, he was the son of the late Joseph A. & Frances Saia, and the beloved husband of Doris.
Joe was raised and educated in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High and then went on to Bentley College for accounting.
In 1972 he married the love of his life, Doris, and together they raised their two children in Framingham.
Over the years, Joe worked for car dealerships in Cambridge, Belmont, and Hudson. After his retirement, he spent the next 15 years as a bus driver for the Wayland Public Schools, which he enjoyed so much.
Joe could fix anything and everything, “why buy it new when it can be fixed?” He enjoyed listening to the scanner and his CB. A game of Sunday golf with his friends brought him happiness, along with time with the grandkids, and his cat Jasmine. Everyone who met him liked him. He was a caring, friendly and giving man, and he would do anything for his family.
Besides his dear wife Doris, Joseph is survived by his children: Chris of Marlborough, and Jennifer & her husband Raymond Kuhl of Milford, their children Ivy and Maxwell, his brother Ted of New Hampton NH, and several nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Anastasi.
Family and friends will honor and remember Joseph’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Friday, June 3 from 1-5 p.m.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Joseph’s name to either MSPCA-Angell, www.mspca.org or Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org.
