NATICK – I am pleased to endorse Henry Haugland for re-election to the Natick School Committee.

I first met Henry when I was Principal at Kennedy Middle School. It was apparent from the outset that Henry asked thoughtful probing questions and that he had done his homework on issues. When he establishes his position on an issue, it is always backed up with facts.

During my time as Principal at Natick High School, I could see his passion for improving student achievement. He has been and continues to be supportive of; new initiatives, raising the bar for all students and systemic excellence.

Henry was a driving force in the creation of the Natick High School Robotics program. He has also been a champion for initiatives in STEM education and worked hard to encourage female students to join the Robotics Team and to pursue advanced classes in Math and Science.

Henry also champions Special Education programming and alternative programming to assist our students. Henry sees the “Big Picture” and is supportive of all areas, not just Academics but the Arts and Athletics as well. He wants all students to have the opportunity to succeed.

A successful businessman in his own right, Henry thoroughly understands public school finance and has a keen and insightful perspective on the school budget. Henry works for the best utilization of resources for our system’s students at all levels and was a moving force in securing community support for our town’s school building projects.

Henry Haugland combines business acumen, a parent’s insight, valuable School Committee Experience, and Institutional History. I am pleased to support his candidacy for re-election to the Natick School Committee!

Sincerely,
