FRAMINGHAM – Three Framingham Police Officers have tested positive for COVID-19, said Framingham Polcie Chief Steven Trask.
Chief Trask said as of 1 p.m. he has 10 police officers in quarantine.
The Chief said the quarantine number is a “fluid number” due to the contract tracing protocols.
He said the virus is having an impact on the manning of the police department shifts.
“We are re-assigning people,” said the Chief.

The Chief said every police officers was assigned a N95 mask, but that department is running low.
The Chief used a MutualOne $10,000 grant to purchase additional N95 masks and peraonl protective equipment but the supply has not yet arrived.
“When it arrives, we will be in good shape for several week,s but right now we are low,” said the Chief.

The Framingham Police Department has mandated masks be worn in the police station.
“It is recommended officers wear masks and gloves in their cruisers,” said Chief Trask.
The officers are supposed to wear PPE when appropriate when responding to their calls, said the Chief.
