Framingham High School Reports 22 New COVID Cases Today; 90 Cases in School District Since Monday

FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Public Schools reported 39 new COVID cases in the district, of which 22 were at Framingham High School.

It is unknown if the cases at re all students, staff, or a combination of both. The district does not separate that number.

Framingham Public School District returned back to class on Monday, January 3, after the winter holiday vacation break.

There have been 90 cases in the school district since 2022. The district has about 10,000 students.

Since the start of the 2021-22 school year through December 31, the district had 590 total COVID cases, with the majority post Thanksgiving.

Today, the district is reporting 680 total cases, with 245 at Framingham High School.

Five cases were reported today at Barbieri Elementary School and four cases at Cameron Middle School.

Two cases were reported at Stapleton.

There was one case reported at the following schools: Potter, King, McCarthy, Dunning and BLOCKS preschool.

There was also one case reported at Farley administration building today.

As mentioned earlier, Framingham High has the most cases in the district this school year with 245.

Barbieri is second with 47 cases.

Potter Road and Harmony Grove each have 44 cases, with Cameron Middle at 40 cases.

The Farley Administration Building has reported a total 19 cases this 2021-2022 school year

Brophy has had the fewest cases this school year with a dozen.

Mayor Charlie Sisitsky announced Monday night, with Superintendent Bob Tremblay, that 3,500 rapid COVID test kits would be distributed to some school families today, and this week, to stop a spread of COVID cases in the school district.
