NATICK – The world has lost a gracious presence. Julia DeSimone Purpura passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
United in marriage for 66 years to Vincent James Purpura, it was a loving partnership encompassing their entire lives; family, business, travel, and community involvement. They were each other’s favorite people.
Generous in both time and spirit, Mom exuded a sense of elegance and warmth. Her love for people was apparent in so many ways. Amazing at conversation, she offered her full attention, empathy and wisdom. Mom’s quiet affirmations like discreetly blowing you an unexpected kiss across a room were all a part of her being. She loved to entertain family and friends, making room for all and providing the fortunate many with wonderful memories of Holidays, special occasions, and summer days on Cape Cod. Mom’s beautiful smile, sense of humor, forever young attitude, impeccable style, and willingness “to jump in the car and go” will stay with us, always.
Julia is survived by her six children, Vincent J. Purpura, Jr. and his wife Jane, Steven Purpura and his wife Maria, Michael Purpura and his wife Nancy, Marianne Purpura Rork and her husband Dennis, John Purpura and his wife Alesa, and Francene Purpura Hobert; 18 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, 44 East Central Street (Rt. 135), Natick on Saturday. December 4 at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julia’s name to Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, 101 Summer Street, Holliston, MA 01746.
