Flyers Marching Band & Color Guard Wins Gold Medal

DARTMOUTH – The Framingham High School marching band & color guard earned a gold medal at its NESBA competition in Dartmouth this weekend.

With a score of 88.3, the Flyers captured first place, among a handful of competitors.

Framingham High School also received awards for best music and best percussion, said band director Andy Jasinski.

“This was a notable show because there were some heavy-hitters in the line up. We were against former division champions and the kids were excited to come out on top of their division,” said Jasinski.

This year’s show is “Pan & Hook” and it explores the relationship between the two well-known literary characters.

A trio of juniors lead the marching band & color guard. They are Drum Major Isabel Feudo, Color Guard Captain, Abigail Fishman, and Battery Captain Mariana Trancoso.

Next up for the Flyers is the New England competition on Halloween at Reading High School.

Competition starts at 9 a.m. and Framingham is scheduled to perform between 10 and 11 a.m.

Admission is $15.
