Framingham MCAS English & Math Scores Down; Only 23% of Grade 3-8 Students Meet Expectations

FRAMINGHAM – The results of the 2021 MCAS scores for Framingham Public Schools, show a drop in the number of students that meet or exceed the math and science expectation.

The state released its MCAS data for 2021 today. Across the Commonwealth, many school districts saw a drop in achievement, likely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

MCAS were not issued in spring 2020 due to the pandemic.

In Framingham, for grades 3-8, only 34% of students met or exceeded the English MCAS expectation, and that was down 6% from the 2019 numbers.

For grades 3-8, only 23% of Framingham students met or exceeded the math MCAs expectation, and that was down 14%

Overall, 46 percent of Massachusetts students in grades 3-8 scored Meeting Expectations or higher in English language arts in 2021, and 33 percent did so in math. Both of these represent a drop compared to 2019, when 52 percent scored at that level in English language arts and 49 percent did so in math.
