FRAMINGHAM – The final regular season outdoor track & field meet for the Framingham High girls team was yesterday, June 2 at Bowditch Field. The Flyers fought hard but couldn’t get the win. The Brookline High Warriors took the victory 70-66.

Despite the loss, there were highlights for Framingham.

Senior Sophie Albright won the high jump with a leap of 5-feet, 6-inches.

“According to Athletic.net the #1 jump in the state this season,” said Coach Chris Collins.

Sophomore Maya Bishop won the long jump with a leap of 16-feet, 11-inches.

Junior Kylie Chagnon won the discus event with a throw of 72-feet, 10-inches.

The Flyers swept the javelin event. Freshman Emily Richardson was first at 68-feet, 11-inches, Albright was second at 67-feet, 9-inches and Nicole Grome took third at 67-feet, 2-inches.

Junior Trinity Trainor took second place in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.3 seconds. Freshman Maggie Spring was third in 18.8 seconds.

Senior Kim Lugonwon the 100-meter dash in 13.4 seconds. Sophomore Madelin Joneswas third in 13.7 seconds.

Bishop won the 200-meter event in 25.2 seconds. Freshman Abby Desmarais also placed at 26 seconds.

Chagnon took second in the 400-meter event in 63.4 seconds.

Junior Laura Dube finished third in the mile in 5:40 minutes.

In the 40–meter hurdles freshmen Ella Terranova and Spring finished one-two for Framingham.

The Flyers won the 4×100 relay in 50.1 seconds with Jones, Lugon, Desmarais, and Bishop

Track & field athletes will compete in the bay State Conference championships on June 8 at Braintree High.
