FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Public Schools will distribute technology devices to those in needs Saturday, announced the Superintendent of Schools Bob Tremblay.
The Superintendent sent notification to staff after 4 p.m. today. Messaging is going out to families shortly.
“I hope this effort will help to address the gap for families who do not presently have a device at home or internet access as we work to at least provide every student in Framingham with the ability to access the wonderful resources that the district and you have provided,” said Tremblay to staff.

Earlier this week, Framingham Public School administrators and teachers reached out to families.
“We were able to identify families who need technology to access learning resources that have been made available on our website,” explained Tremblay.

If a Framingham Public School student does not a device to access online learning resources, “we are going to provide one Chromebook per household based on need,” said Tremblay this afternoon, March 20.The distribution will take place Saturday, March 21 between 8;30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The pick-up schedule and school-based locations will be emailed to families in need.
“We’re also working to identify Community Partner sites to assist with this to ensure Chromebook distribution for families with limited access to transportation,’ said Tremblay.

This pandemic has led everyone into a feeling of isolation and it has only been a week,’ said Tremblay in an email to staff this evening, March 20. “Thank you again for your efforts to stay engaged with our families and with one another.
