Traffic Commission: Motorists on Edgell Road Typically Above Speed Limit

FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Traffic Commission will examine speeding on Edgell Road at its June meeting, said Chair Bill Sedewitz, last night, May 25.

Speeding data was collected on two occasions, from September 29, 2020 to October 1, 2020, and another period between April 20-22, 2021, said Sedewitz, who is also the Chief Engineer for the City of Framingham.

The data collected showed that most drivers were going above the speed limit, with average speeds as high as 40 miles per hour. The posted speed limit is 35 miles per hour.

As no residents were present to speak on the speeding issues on Edgell at Tuesday night’s meeting, Sedewitz said the Commission would table the issue until the June meeting.
