Gov. Baker: Feds To Deliver 100,000 Johnson & Johnson Vaccines

QUINCY – Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker announced the federal government will deliver 100,000 Johnson & Johnson, one-shot, COVID-19 vaccines to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Gov. Baker said this is a “big deal” as the federal government has only been sending about 135,000 to 185,00 total vaccines to the state.

“As I’ve said before, thank god Pfizer and Moderna were there when they were there, but the difference between two doses and one dose is not just convenience, it’s also capacity,” Gov. Baker said.

The federal government has sent the Commonwealth 4,063,570 total doses of the three vaccines, as of March 30.

The Commonwealth said 3,483,277 doses of the three COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Massachusetts, as of yesterday.

The state has administered 85,520 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
