Commonwealth To Hold Route 9 & 126 Intersection Design Webinar

FRAMINGHAM – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will publish a pre-recorded virtual design public hearing, February 2, 2021, on the MassDOT website to present the design for the proposed drainage improvements on Route 9 at Route 126 interchange and salt shed relocation (phase 1) project in Framingham.

The intersection has flooded for decades.

The purpose of this virtual hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed drainage improvement at the Route 9 and Route 126 intersection.

The proposed project consists of drainage improvement on Route 9 at Route 126 since there has been consistent flooding within the area. This will alleviate flooding impacts on Route 9 during heavy rain events, which causes impacts to traffic patterns and unpredictable lane closures.

Additionally, this project will improve public safety by decreasing flooding in this area. This project will not include bicycle and pedestrian accommodations.
