FRAMINGHAM – Ashland & Framingham State Representative Jack Patrick Lewis said he plans to file legislation to designate a state dinosaur for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
And you can help him decide which dinosaur, by participating in a survey.
“Later this month, I will file legislation to designate an official State Dinosaur and I need your help! Twelve states have already designated an official “State Dinosaur,” and with your help, maybe Massachusetts will be next,” wrote the State Representative.
Rep. Lewis said part of the goal of this legislation is to get youth involved in understanding the legislative process.

“The dinosaurs up for consideration are Podokesaurus holyokensis and Anchisaurus polyzelus. While they aren’t the largest dinosaurs to roam the planet, they begin to tell the story of how dinosaurs came to rule the Earth,” wrote Rep. Lewis.
He said he plans to file the legislation on January 15, 2021.

Lewis said the survey is open to any resident of Massachusetts and to those with close connections to the Commonwealth.
