FRAMINGHAM – Eunice A. (Hanley) Clouse 95, a longtime Framingham resident and currently residing in Sudbury passed away peacefully on December 26, 2021 after a very long and enjoyable life surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 3, 1925 in Dorchester, to the late George and Catherine “Kitty” Hanley. She had been the loving wife of Atty. Michael J Clouse, Jr. for 34 years who passed away in May 1986.
A graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsboro, Eunice mostly lived in the Boston area in her early years and worked for the New England Telephone Company before getting married and moving to Framingham in 1955.
Also, she spent a short time living in Florida near a few of her children before heading back to the Metro west area again for the past 30 years.
Eunice then worked at BJ’s Corporate office in Natick in Corporate Memberships for many years until she retired in 2010.
Eunice is survived by 6 children; daughter Gail Spinale and her late husband Anthony of Watertown, son Michael III and his wife Terri of Nashville, Tenn., son Bob and his wife April of Holliston, daughter Joni Godino and her husband Jay Sr. of Framingham, daughter and loving care taker Nancy Pratt and her husband Jerry of Sudbury, daughter Jane Damata and her husband Patrick (Butch) of Framingham.
She is often referred to as Eunie, Gram and Big Gram by her family, friends and 13 grandchildren & 20 great grandchildren whom she was very proud of. She was the loving sister to the late Eleanor Kiely and sister in law to the late Tom Kiely Sr. formerly of Manchester by the Sea.
Eunice loved to do cross word puzzles, read the Metrowest Daily News, National Enquire and Star Magazine to name a few. Eunice enjoyed being with and visiting all of her family over the years such as: lunch dates at Ken’s Steak House; visits with her daughters to Mohegan Sun & Foxwoods; dinners at her grandson Luke Foley’s Bourbons Kitchen and Cocktails in Framingham, watching the NE Patriots games and meeting up with her close friends Hilda Farrell, Barbara Kinnucane, Grace Ribeiro and Marie Fandel on a periodic basis.
Eunice’s dad George was a decorated Boston Police Officer for 8 years who died in the line of duty in 1934. Mom was delighted and proud that 4 of her grandsons went into law enforcement following her father’s footsteps. Rob Clouse is currently a Massachusetts State Trooper out of the Milton Barracks, Joe Godino is a Foxboro Police Officer, Mike Godino is a Framingham Police Officer and Jay Godino Jr “Chip” is an ATF special agent in Mass.
Considering the current health restrictions, Eunice’s family will honor and remember her with a Mass and Celebration of life to take place at a later date to be announced in 2021 when it becomes more appropriate.
Interment will be in Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham.
