Josefa de Albuquerque, 94, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025, at home, surrounded by her family in Ashland, Massachusetts.
Josefa was born on September 16, 1930, in Cabaceiras, Paraíba, Brazil, to Severino Camello and Alice Paulina da Conceição. She was married to her loving husband, Antonio de Albuquerque Souza, for 58 years until his passing in 2014.
She is survived by her siblings: Severino Mário Camello, Antônio Barboza Camello, and Terezinha Barboza Ataíde;; her children: Maria de Assunção Gonzaga (Albuquerque), Karlla Emanuelly Ferreira (Albuquerque), Sônia Maria Barboza Matos (Albuquerque), Antônio de Albuquerque Souza Jr., and Júlio Rosenberg de Albuquerque; her grandchildren: Maria Victoria Gonzaga, Thomaz Gonzaga, Brenno Kim Matos, Kenzzo Lui Matos, Anthony Ferreira, Felipe Ferreira, Richard Brandão de Albuquerque, Diego de Albuquerque, and Danilo de Albuquerque; and her great-grandchildren: Gabriella Gonzaga, Ayla Butler, and Isaiah Butler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, her siblings, and her daughter, Lindalva Barboza de Albuquerque.
Josefa had a passion for traveling and reading. She dedicated her life to caring for her special needs child until their passing at 54 years old. She touched the hearts of everyone she met, and her smile and warm energy will be deeply missed.
Josefa’s kindness and love touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
Family and friends will honor and remember Josefa’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home,11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Friday, February 14th from 9-10:30AM. Her Funeral Mass will follow in St. Tarcisius Church, 562 Waverly St. Framingham at 11 o’clock. Interment will be private.
