James F. “Bing” Remillard, 91, a longtime resident of Framingham and most recently Franklin, died Saturday December 21, 2024, with his loving family at his side.  Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Arthur J. & Grace (Dion) Remillard, and the beloved husband of Joyce A. (McCausland) Remillard for 71 years.

Bing was a 1951 graduate of St. John’s High School in Worcester and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy in San Francisco and Guam until 1955. He married his middle school sweetheart Joyce in 1953 and had the first of their 11 children shortly thereafter. Bing and Joyce lived in Worcester and Shrewsbury for the next 12 years where they purchased and maintained several residential buildings. In 1967, along with their now 10 children, Bing and Joyce settled in Framingham. Bing retired in 1986, after a 31-year career at New England Tel and Tel.

A devout Catholic, Bing volunteered extensively over the years for the church as well as the Boy Scouts of America. He loved jogging, hiking, and camping and, in his own words, “was positively addicted to golf.” In their retirement, he and Joyce purchased a condo in Florida and wintered there ever since.

Bing is survived by his loving wife, Joyce. As a true patriarch, Bing is also survived by his 11 children: Rebecca Remillard & her partner Sandra Durkee of North Carolina, Jim Remillard & his wife Maureen of East Falmouth, Michael Remillard & his wife Jennifer of Alaska, Debra Remillard of Montana, Joseph Remillard & his wife Susannah of Dennis, Daniel Remillard & his partner Marislena Penders of Southborough, Susan Ostrowski & her husband Steven of Connecticut, Peter Remillard & his wife Maria of New Hampshire, Nancy Remillard & her partner Leigh Marrero of Wareham, Luanne Remillard-Paglia & her husband Robert Paglia of Harvard, and Douglas Remillard & his wife Indranee Vandana of France.

He is also survived by 28 grandchildren: Ryan, Colin, Erin, Selam, Ian, Kaitlin, Meghan, Nathan, Emily, Anna, Daniel. Timberly, Darryn, Michelle, Hallie, Madeleine, Nellie, Nicholas, David, Ramona, Benjamin, Dev, Amanda, Avery, Alicia, Hansraj, Varshali, and Cordelia.

He is also survived by 23 great grandchildren: Rhiannon, Gweneth, Finnegan, Cillian, Audrey, Liam, Ryaln, Kira, Camden, Maeve, Callum, Jadyn, Arden, Ethan, Eliana, Levi, Alice, Edith, Eleanor, Emelyn, Mariah, Beckett, and James, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bing was predeceased by his three siblings: Arthur Remillard, Jr, Jacqueline Ericson, and Joanne Plante.

Family and friends will honor and remember Bing’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, at 11 Lincoln St. in Framingham, on Sunday December 29th from 1-4:00pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. George’s Church, at 74 School St in Framingham, on Monday morning, December 30th at 10:00am. Interment will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery, Framingham.
