Melanie Vymlatil, RN, has recently joined MetroWest Medical Center as Associate Chief Nursing Officer for both Framingham Union and Leonard Morse hospitals. Melanie’s job entails providing day-to-day nursing support and leadership to both MetroWest hospitals. She most recently worked at BID Plymouth and at Rhode Island Hospital prior to that.
Melanie started her nursing career in Florida. She has been an RN for 25 years possessing more than 20 years of leadership experience in numerous areas of specialty. She has experience in both large academic medical center settings and community hospitals.
“The ability to make a difference in the lives of others is what I find most rewarding about my career,” says Melanie. “I have always been extremely passionate about helping people and as a nursing leader, I am given the opportunity to do this on a much larger scale by influencing and developing highly functioning teams and creating a positive work culture.” She is highly focused on the patient and their experience as well as providing a safe environment for all who enter the hospitals.
When she’s not working, Melanie has a variety of hobbies. “I enjoy spending time and entertaining family and friends. I love to travel, being able to visit and experience new places, cultures and traditions.” She also loves spending time on or near the ocean. Melanie has lived in New England for 10 years.
